For the second day, the work of the First International Scientific Conference on Biomedical Engineering, held by the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at Damascus University, continued under the title (Biomedical Engineering and its Role in Developing Health Care).

The participants in the conference reviewed a set of studies and research on recent developments in medical engineering, biosignal processing technology, biomedical materials, nanotechnology and its engineering and medical applications, hospital management and health care, the role of leadership in developing the health care sector, economic evaluation in health care, in addition to vital information, biostatistics, creativity and innovation. in medical engineering.

In statements to SANA, Dr. Mustafa Al-Mawaldi, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at the University of Damascus, confirmed that the conference is the first of its kind in Syria and constitutes a qualitative opportunity to introduce the research carried out by the Department of Medical Engineering in the college, as well as to communicate and meet with international researchers and exchange experiences, especially from Iraq and Iran. Dr. Mamdouh Munif, a specialist in medical engineering, noted the importance of the conference in terms of contributing to improving the health service provided to patients, and presented a paper on (Bioelectronics to Support Health and Life Care).

And from Egypt, Dr. Khaled Esmat Allam, a consultant in the field of radiography in a number of Egyptian hospitals, spoke via the Internet about health care management and the skills and capabilities that administrative leaders in hospitals must possess and their ability to deal with various rumors that spread on social media and give scientific medical justification. the appropriate.

From Iraq, Dr. Daoud Mahdi and Dr. Zina Jamil gave a lecture on the statistical correlation between age groups, body mass index, and cancer degree with serum concentrations of immunological biomarkers.

From Italy, Engineer Nibras Abu al-Dahab, a doctoral student in information security in medicine at an Italian university, gave two lectures in the field of vital signs, in which he reviewed new methods in the field of electroencephalography through artificial intelligence algorithms.

The work of the conference started yesterday and continues until tomorrow with the aim of providing the best solutions to health care problems and keeping pace with the rapid development of technology in the medical field.
