Accused of having killed a VTC driver for a disagreement over a place in a queue in 2020, a man tried before the Seine-Saint-Denis Assize Court said on Tuesday May 17 that he had only had intent to "
deter
" the victim.

On February 11, 2020, Aous Trabelsi, a resident of Romainville then unemployed, went at 3:00 p.m. to a washing station in Les Lilas (Seine-Saint-Denis).
After taking his ticket, he gets angry with Amadou Bah, a VTC driver present in the queue before him.
The two men shout at each other, exchange blows and are separated by witnesses.
Then a second altercation broke out.

Amadou Bah grabs Aous Trabelsi by the throat, who pulls out a small knife and stabs the driver in the abdomen.
The victim staggers and dies within minutes.
The author of the fatal blow flees with a bang.

It was hounding me.
I took out the knife, I thought it was going to dissuade him and that I was going to extract myself
, ”explains the 32-year-old defendant at the helm.

You take out this knife and immediately you strike, you are not in deterrence
”, underlines the president, Caroline Jadis-Pomeau.

Six family members and colleagues of the victim also spoke, refusing to forgive his gesture, “
an act provoked, done voluntarily
”.
Amadou Bah, 35, was a Guinean political refugee who arrived in France in 2010. His relatives described him as a smiling, hard-working, helpful man and pillar of his family in the country.

At the time of the events, he had just obtained visas for his wife and two children, after years of living apart.

My life and that of my children revolved around their dad.
My most ardent dream is to prepare for the future of our children
”, confided, very affected, his widow, helped by a Fulani language interpreter.
The verdict is expected on Wednesday.
