In his own words, Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann, at the age of 74, is not yet thinking of giving up his office before the end of the legislative period.
"At the moment I feel really fit," said the Green politician on Tuesday in Stuttgart when asked about his birthday (May 17).
He is now back among the people and out of the state ministry, which is “like a fresh cell cure”.
Stuttgart - You can debate, argue and "fray" with people again.
Serious crises such as the Ukraine war are currently keeping the state government very busy.
His experience will benefit him, said Kretschmann.
These are challenging times, but he feels he can cope quite well.

He is also not under any pressure to act as far as his successor is concerned, said Kretschmann.
"This is not the right time to think about a successor." Only a fifth of the legislature is behind him.
He still has a lot to do and will not go into a legislative period to end it immediately, that would be "completely nonsensical".
Kretschmann wants to resign in four years at the latest - at the official end of the legislative period.
