The new Langenbacher Naturkindergarten was officially opened with an extremely well-attended festival.

The facility received a lot of praise at the inauguration.

Langenbach

– The natural kindergarten located on Inkofener Straße in Langenbach has now officially opened after a construction period of one and a half years.

Well over 150 onlookers took part in the opening ceremony.

The construction had caused problems.

The shelter was at risk of flooding due to heavy rain.

Corrective work was required.

There was also criticism of the concept: because you can get by without water and electricity and the children have to go to a composting toilet.

At the inauguration ceremony, this was no longer the case.

Not even from the costs, which according to Mayor Susanne Hoyer are 240,000 euros - including outdoor facilities.

Money well spent, as the speeches suggested.

There was praise from all sides for the pretty outpost of the "Mooshäusl" kindergarten.

"It's nice to be in the forest, come rain or shine," sang the "Mooskobolde" from Langenbach at the inauguration of their natural kindergarten.

Mayor Susanne Hoyer was delighted to be able to hand over the modern low-rise wooden building for its intended purpose.

She spoke of a "heart project" and of the fact that one could of course simply set up a construction trailer.

Now that everything is finished and a canopy has even been installed, she would "prefer to move in herself", revealed the head of the town hall.

About the pedagogical concept pursued by the head of the kindergarten, Silvia Aumüller, and her team, she said: "From an early age, children get to know a completely different way of dealing with nature, they experience all kinds of weather, they are strengthened for life here with all their senses, with their hearts and minds ."

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

That went well with the song that the “Mooskobolde”, as the group calls themselves in the floodplain forest, sang together with their supervisors.

"It's nice to be in the forest, come rain or shine," the children sang.

There was great applause for it.

Then it was the turn of group leader Christine Schegerer.

Holding up a simple stick, she explained that children would see it as "a fishing rod, a cooking spoon, a magic wand, or a sword."

Fostering imagination and creativity in the great outdoors is what matters out here.

It's also about sustainability, explained the group leader.

"How much water do you think it takes to wash twelve children's hands?" Schegerer asked the group.

"That's two bottles," she stated, to the astonishment of those present.

Opening ceremony was like a summer party

With that, the official part was slowly coming to an end.

The guests stayed a long time because the opening ceremony had the character of a summer festival: There was a finger food buffet prepared by parents and a donation box that filled up quickly.

The proceeds go to the Welthungerhilfe campaign "Save the Children".
