According to

, the "Staples" office markets are said to be on the brink of collapse just four months after the Hamburg office supplies retailer OfficeCentre Gmb filed for insolvency (more service news at RUHR24)

"Despite an intensive search, an investor who is able to continue the business operations of the company, which specializes in the sale of office supplies, could not be found in the long term," explains the insolvency administrator Sven-Holger Undritz.

According to earlier information from the insolvency administrator, the company was the largest stationary retailer for office supplies in Germany with around 700 employees, 50 branches of the "Staples" brand and an online shop, reports RUHR24.

But now the company should withdraw from the market and sell the remaining goods in the branches.

According to mopo.de

, insolvency proceedings were opened on May 1st

.

Another company, which had to close due to insolvency, is said to be making a comeback.

Since then, more than 120 potential investors have been approached and negotiations have been held with several.

According to information, however, no offer was made for a long-term continuation of the "Staples" markets.

"I very much regret that we were not able to attract any investors to the company," said Undritz.

Staples currently has 50 branches in Germany, 17 in NRW alone.

The employees are said to have fought for three months with the management for a restructuring.

However, the company is not completely out of the world.

The former "Staples" wholesale division, which belongs to the French company Lyreco and operates under the name Lyreco Advantage, is spared from the OfficeCentre insolvency.
