The youth center "Fezi" in Unterföhring has been reopened after the general renovation.

Everyone involved gave a lot of praise for the conversion.

Unterföhring

- "This is an amazing house!" Fezi manager Metti Schramm is enthusiastic about the completely renovated leisure center in Unterföhring, in which he has now welcomed children and young people again for the first time: "Style has entered the new Fezi."

After one and a half years of provisional youth work in the "Farm", Mayor Andreas Kemmelmeyer (PWU) handed over the completely renovated "Fezi" to the district youth council of Munich-Land (KJR) as operator of the facility.

After an "awfully long time without Fezi", the work was not only completed according to plan, said Kemmelmeyer: the budget, which was estimated at 4.7 million euros at the time, was even undercut by a six-digit amount.

"That's particularly good these days," said Kemmelmeyer jubilantly.

The crowd of guests acknowledged his summary with some applause.

"The unmistakable Fezi flair has not been lost."

Almost the entire KJR leadership, municipal councillors, city hall employees and a considerable part of the Unterföhring youth crowded into the renovated building in the best beer garden weather.

Seen from the outside, the new Fezi corresponds to the recently renovated sports center in the vicinity.

The effect is intentional.

The modern and airy-looking ensemble at Jahnstraße 23 was designed by architect Alexander Sonnleitner as an eye-catcher.

And the best thing about it, according to Kemmelmeyer: "The unmistakable Fezi flair has not been lost." The new leisure center is worth every penny.

Metti Schramm thanked the community and the planners for the openness shown to his team and the Unterföhring youth, which he considers an appreciation: "We were allowed to participate with suggestions at any time." Schramm is extremely satisfied with the result: The new Fezi is divided into four levels.

Generously used glass gives the impression of space and transparency.

The building has an elevator, three kitchens, new sanitary facilities, a stage and "a lot of equipment," explained Schramm.

The Fezi director is particularly pleased to be able to offer children and young people a wide range of activities.

There is a ping-pong table, billiards, a table football.

Communicative play equipment that makes a social worker's heart beat faster.

The disco in the basement has been expanded.

The café is housed in a 46 square meter new extension.

Ice cream and pizza should also be sold to guests from outside.

Schramm would be happy if schools and clubs used the Fezi for parties.

Metti Schramm is confident that the completely renovated leisure center will be a welcome meeting place for young people.

There was a murmur of agreement from the crowd of guests present.

Mayor Kemmelmeyer wishes the children and young people from Unterföhring "distinctive and formative experiences".
