After a record year in 2019 with 25 missions, the Maising volunteer fire department has been a little quieter in this regard over the past two years.

The military had to deploy eleven times in 2020 and 13 times last year.

In both years together, she was called to ten fires, eight technical assistance, two traffic accidents and one other operation.

This emerges from the operational balance sheet, which the 1st Commander Florian Dreisbach presented at the annual meeting of the Maisinger Wehr.

Maising

– The active people were just as underemployed as the fire brigade association.

As far as possible during the pandemic, training continued.

For exercises, training, operations, equipment maintenance and other tasks, the Maisinger fire brigade recorded 1105 man-hours in the first year of the pandemic.

Last year there were again 1650 volunteer hours.

The military had 37 active members at the end of 2021 - 32 men and five women.

At the beginning of 2020 there were still 35 active people, including three women.

The Maisinger youth fire brigade has been able to keep its strength of ten members under the direction of youth warden Paula Pfeffer in the past two years.

Three members moved up to the active team during this time.

The planning for the new tool shed that is to be built on Pöckinger Straße is also progressing.

An architectural office has been found since the most recent annual meeting in February 2020, and after a meeting between the Maising fire station working group and the architects in January 2022, there is now also a preliminary design.

According to the municipality, construction should start in 2023.

The new LF10 fire engine should also be available by the time the project is completed.

In the meantime, the working group for the purchase of the 300,000-euro fire engine was also at a meeting with the manufacturer, Dreisbach reported.

In addition to the compulsory tasks and their preparation, the fire brigade also took care of the togetherness, for example when eating kettle meat - during the pandemic in the version "for home" - or at the annual Ramadama.

The agenda of the meeting also included the election of the board of directors of the fire brigade association.

Klaus Gawellek was elected as the first board member and Dennis Walther as his deputy.

Manfred Unteregger was elected treasurer, Thomas Golinski is secretary.

Manuel Eickhoff and Alexander Papst were chosen as cash auditors.

The association had 114 members at the end of 2021.

Honors for long-standing members were also part of the program.

Among other things, Jakob Werl received the Silver Medal of Honor from the district fire brigade association.

He has been a member of the fire department for 80 years.

Other members had already been honored in other contexts during the Corona period.

The honorees include: Georg Lechner for 70 years of club membership, Anton Bernhard (65 years of membership), Franz Gröger (60 years), Sebastian Ludwig, Matthias Unteregger, Robert Papst (50 years each), Hans Dreisbach, Thomas Bernhart and Josef Benedikt ( 40 years each).
