There was a double reason to celebrate at MIPM (Mammendorf Institute for Physics and Medicine).

On the one hand, the medium-sized company has been in existence for 40 years.

On the other hand, a new building was inaugurated.

The heart of it all: the generation bridge, which connects the existing building with the new building.

Mammendorf – You had to tremble a bit whether everything would be ready in time for the big anniversary, but in the end it really was a precision landing.

Even the beautiful garden with the pavilion jokingly called “Colloseum” was completed on schedule.

"It was a mammoth project for everyone and the biggest risk of my career," said MIPM Managing Director Michael N. Rosenheimer in his speech about the ten million euro project at the inauguration ceremony.

But: “Our success proves us right.

Without the new building we would not be able to master the future.”

In order to tackle a project like this, however, success has to come first, said the 65-year-old in his speech to the invited guests.

And he also knows who he owes all this to, as he emphasizes, namely his "MIPM family".

There are 72 employees and colleagues who belong to the MIPM family.

It all started as a "two-and-a-half-man operation," as Rosenheimer recalled in an interview with the Tagblatt.

Half the job had been secretary.

District Administrator Thomas Karmasin said Rosenheimer could be proud of the kind of company he had here.

"You are an entrepreneur who never stands still."

Mammendorf's Deputy Mayor Peter Muck emphasized that MIPM has been aware for decades that "the workforce is the heart of a company and its greatest asset".

Despite the great success, Michael N. Rosenheimer "never forgot his roots" and was "a real asset to the community in many respects".

He wished him "the right nose for the world market".

Jennifer Rosenheimer also addressed this: "We operate worldwide, but have local roots".

She described the employees as the engine of the company.

"That's why we do everything to ensure that our employees are well."

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular FFB newsletter.)

There was a big surprise for the 36-year-old at the end of the official part of the anniversary celebration, and her dad had it ready.

"It's an incredibly liberating feeling to know you're superfluous," he said.

Therefore he will transfer 20 percent of the company shares to his daughter Jennifer, who is also the managing partner.

The deputy general manager Peter Kammerer had honors for long-standing MIPM employees from the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK).

And the MIPM boss himself has also created a prize this year, the "Leonardo da MIPM Award", which honors special merits for the company.

The first prizewinner was Elisabeth Rosenheimer, wife and MIPM Human Resources Manager.

The anniversary was also celebrated with the citizens.

At an open house, visitors could take a look at the company, the generation bridge, and the new and existing building.

And the interest was great.

"It was packed," says Michael N. Rosenheimer.

"That makes me happy."

A success story: From the service company to the market leader

The Mammendorf Institute for Physics and Medicine (MIPM) was founded in 1982 as a service company.

The main task was to ensure medical care in Munich and the surrounding area.

Initially at home in Hattenhofen, the move to Mammendorf came early.

Finally, the specialization on the current niche, the products suitable for nuclear spin, followed.

From 1991, Managing Director Michael N. Rosenheimer also became the sole shareholder of the company, and since 2019 he has had his daughter Jennifer Rosenheimer on board as Managing Director.

In 1997, MIPM became the global market leader with the first MRI-compatible syringe pump system - ten years without a competitor.

In 2007, the company launched the world's first free-standing blood pressure monitor in the MRI environment.

MIPM now exports to over 100 countries around the world, but development and production takes place in Germany.

A subsidiary will also soon be established in the USA.
