Egling - Last week, three volunteer medals were awarded for special services in the municipality of Egling.
The winners are: Marlene Fleischmann, Bruno Dierl and Valentin Brunner.
Marlene Fleischmann was honored for her work in the parish.
As a lecturer, active in helping the elderly, communion helper and supporter of the refugees from Ukraine, she is a "power woman with a great talent for organization", honored Josef Kellner as laudator and chairman of the Eglingen parish council.
Mayor Hubert Oberhauser praised her as "one who doesn't talk long, but does things".
Fleischmann is excellently networked and indispensable in the church.
Bruno Dierl also received an award for his merits in the Neufahrn Water and Soil Association.
The eulogy was held by the third mayor, Heiko Arndt, who is also a resident of Neufahrn.
Dierl has been chairman of the association since 1982 and also responsible for the safety of drinking water as water warden.
Dierl has also been active in the Neufahrner Trachtenverein for several years.
The head of the town hall praised him for his reliability in his "intensive and eventful volunteer life".
Volunteers are essential to the community
The third award went to Valentin Brunner, who was one of the founding members of the rifle club in 1952 and worked as a youth worker.
Brunner has been an active hunter for many decades and was first commander of the Endlhausen volunteer fire brigade for many years.
"You were a great role model for me," said fire brigade comrade Helmut Gröbmair in his appreciation.
At the ceremony in the clubhouse, Mayor Oberhauser made it clear how indispensable volunteering is for the quality of life in Egling: "The whole variety from music to sport, from the fire brigade to youth work would not exist." Especially now, after Corona, need it a departure.
