Home burglary in North Point.

At about 11:00 last night (16th), the police received a report from a female resident surnamed Zheng (31 years old) in Wo Fu Center, saying that about 500,000 Hong Kong dollars in cash was missing from the house, which was suspected to be the work of her 46-year-old Filipino maid.

After police arrived to investigate, the Filipino maid was arrested on suspicion of "employee theft".

According to sources, the female victim surnamed Zheng has lived at the site for more than 20 years with her mother and sister, and hired the Filipino maid involved in the case in February this year.

Earlier, she put about 500,000 Hong Kong dollars in cash in her bedroom closet. Later, when she was about to deposit the money in the bank, she found that the money was missing.

Since only Ms. Zheng in the whole house knew where the money was stored, only she and the Filipino maid could enter her bedroom.

So she called the police and arrested the Filipino maid.

However, Zheng's apartment was not equipped with CCTV. The Filipino maid denied taking the cash, and the Eastern District Police District Criminal Investigation Team took over the investigation.
