How can the old town be enlivened in winter?

In a creative workshop, concrete ideas, including unusual ones, should be collected.

Schongau – The old town of Schongau should be an attractive place to stay and meet up for all age groups – even in winter.

What is needed for this is now up to the citizens themselves.

Numerous ideas are to be collected at a creative workshop on Wednesday, June 1st, to which the deputy mayor Daniela Puzzovio and the new location promoter Tina Birke are jointly inviting.

It is important to Birke that the people of Schongau are involved in the development of a "winter revitalization concept" from the outset.

At the end of the day, it's about making things better for the citizens.

"Everyone is allowed to contribute their needs and wishes, so that all ideas and concepts can then be compared and weighed up," says Birke.

Young and old should be able to contribute equally to the creative workshop and say what they need,

As inspiration, Daniela Puzzovio has worked out a separate motto for each month: "Light" for November, "Christmas Market" for December and "Ice and Snow" for January and February.

Birke does not want to elaborate on why exactly these topics, as they are only intended to serve as an incentive or reminder to develop your own ideas.

It is important to her that the people from Schongau are completely free in their brainstorming.

"You're welcome to suggest something that's really unusual," she emphasizes.

And this is completely independent of what has already been there or what has been considered.

If you want to take part, you should register quickly

A total of 35,000 euros is available for winter revitalization.

As reported, last year the city of Schongau submitted a total of four projects for the special fund "Invigorate inner cities" and received a grant.

One of the project building blocks aims to revitalize Marienplatz in winter.

There are 30 places for citizens in the creative workshop, six places are intended for people from retail.

If you want to participate, you should be quick.

"Registration takes place in order," explains location promoter Tina Birke.

However, all registrations are recorded, if one jumps off, the next one moves up the list.

In six small groups, the participants in the creative workshop collect suggestions for winter revitalization.

Discuss them, then present them to all the other participants and weight them.

Birke and Puzzovio have planned about three hours for the event, which starts at 6.30 p.m. - enough time for the exchange without unnecessarily prolonging it.

That's why the number of participants is limited," explains Birke.

Registration:

Anyone who has ideas on the subject of "winter revitalization of the old town" and would like to take part in the creative workshop of the city of Schongau should contact the location promoter Tina Birke on telephone number 08861/214-134 or by e-mail to birke.tina@schongau.de at.
