Looking back, the legendary Hôtel Costes on rue Saint-Honoré is a precursor.
It all started with an anecdote when a client complained to the founder about a too ordinary smell of lily of the valley.
Piqué, Jean-Louis Costes realizes some time later that the client is Olivia Giacobetti, a prominent perfumer.
He asks her to imagine a perfume for his hotel.
We are in 1998. The rest is well known: a plethora of candles are burning, from the entrance hall to the large living room, with a melody of spices, balms and incense hovering over the red velvet benches.
Since then, many tourists have bought the Brune candle available at the 5-star boutique.
