The General Establishment for Land Reclamation re-pumped water to irrigate the fields in the Southern Aleppo Plains project, with an area of ​​about 3000 hectares, after completing maintenance and repair work for all emergency malfunctions that the network was exposed to during the last period.

And Eng. Rabie Al-Ali, director of the General Organization for Land Reclamation, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the work in the first phase of the project was completed and implemented by the General Organization for Military Construction at a cost of 3 billion and 500 million Syrian pounds, as the entire area was planted with wheat and part of the network lines were damaged as a result of differences The water pressure and consequently the necessary maintenance was carried out and put back into service, noting that work is continuing in the second phase of the project, which aims to irrigate an area of ​​4,400 hectares to be put into service during the next year.

And he indicated that the Corporation also rehabilitated the pumping groups in the joint station in the Al-Assad irrigation facility, which has an area of ​​17,000 hectares in the Maskana area, east of Aleppo, where 3 main engines and an auxiliary engine were rehabilitated at a value of 3 billion Syrian pounds and were put into service to supplement the work of the main engine and secure an amount of 24 cubic meters per second. For the project, in parallel, work was done to maintain the main and secondary irrigation channels that were damaged by terrorism through contracting with public sector entities.

Al-Ali pointed out that the Foundation is working with international organizations to rehabilitate the Tishreen and Al-Jalaa stations to secure irrigation for an area of ​​1,000 hectares, which were put into service this season. In the Maskanah West project, which has an area of ​​34,500 hectares, the workshops are carrying out maintenance to ensure that water reaches the main and secondary axes of the canal, indicating that the canals have been rehabilitated. And the gates east of the Maskana project and the necessary maintenance for the pumping group to irrigate the entire cultivated areas.

He explained that after the rehabilitation of the Tal Hasel pumping station with a capacity of 4 cubic meters per second and the introduction of two engines into service, water was secured for the industrial city with an amount of one cubic meter and 3 cubic meters for the waterfall facility in Handarat to feed the 18 km-long Queiq River course to irrigate more than 20,000 hectares south of Aleppo.

The Foundation has also worked, according to Al-Ali, to put the projects of the third and fifth sectors into service in Deir ez-Zor governorate, with an area of ​​14,000 hectares, and work is currently being done to rehabilitate the seventh sector, with an area of ​​7,500 hectares, and it is expected to enter service during the next season.
