A shop called the "Education Center" in Wan Chai was found to have been thrown at the glass door and sprayed with oil at around 11 am yesterday (May 17).
Police arrived at the scene to investigate and classified it as a "criminal damage" case. No one was injured in the incident.
The scene is on the 1st floor of Cheung You Building, 150 Lockhart Road, Wan Chai, a shop called "Wan Chai Education Center", which is known to be operated by a virtual currency shop.
It is understood that another branch of the company in the Causeway Bay area was found to have been destroyed earlier, and the police arrested two men suspected of being involved in the case.
The case was handed over to the Wan Chai Crime Squad for follow-up.

Yesterday (17th) at 9:00 pm, the police received a report that a virtual currency shop on the Kwun Tong Plaza Building, Hoi Yuen Road, was drenched in red oil, and several A4 sheets of paper were left on the ground, one of which read "A Bitcoin scammer hard-earned money".
It is understood that after the accident at the Kwun Tong store, some staff immediately rushed to the "Education Center" in Wan Chai to check the situation.
According to online information, the store has many branches in Mong Kok, Causeway Bay, Central, Yuen Long, Lai Chi Kok, Tsim Sha Tsui and Tsuen Wan.
The virtual currency store involved later issued a "clarification statement" on its social page, stating that the company has been maliciously smeared and deliberately sabotaged. The company and all its affiliated branches hold valid commercial registrations and all business and related transactions are legal.
The statement continued that the company and its employees currently do not provide temporary asset custody services for any cryptocurrency, only cash and Canadian currency can be exchanged between each other, and will be processed immediately at the store site, without any fraudulent elements, reminding customers to guard against counterfeiting.
