The arrest of the suspected man who tried to spy on the CEO of the Strauss Group, Giora Bar-De'a, was extended today (Tuesday) by three days. Police are investigating whether he was sent to do so by another party.The company recently made headlines following the salmonella storm in chocolate.

The man denied in his interrogation what was attributed to him.
He said he did not know the Strauss CEO, claiming that he thought the place was home to a renovation contractor who had hired him in the past, who allegedly owed him money, which he wanted to collect. In order to record it using the listening devices he brought with him
, however, police investigators found in the possession of the suspect a note that read "Bar Bar De'a" and details of the Strauss CEO's residential address.
Moreover, the investigation shows that although the suspect was employed by the same contractor, he said that he did not know him at all and denied that he owed him money.
During his police interrogation, the suspect claimed to have written the note a long time ago and repeated his claim that he thought his former employer lived at the address where he was caught, having previously allegedly taken him there and brought him food.

Advocate Ran Alon on behalf of the Public Defender's Office said earlier this week that "my client is a 50-year-old man with no criminal record, who he says has no acquaintance with the Strauss CEO.
And denies any connection attributed to him.
"As far as I understand, he came to the place because he thought that his former employer lives there, who is a renovation contractor who owes him money."
