The Minister of Finance, Avigdor Lieberman, and the Minister of Education, Yifat Shasha-Bitton, agreed today (Tuesday) that kindergartens will also be included in the school program of the Great Freedom this year.
The program, which began several years ago and originally included only grades 1-3, has been expanded to include kindergartens in the last two years of the Corona, and as mentioned, will also be budgeted for this year.
The finance minister said that "schools of great freedom provide an educational solution for children. We will continue to promote, strengthen and encourage the employment of young parents and middle-class families."
Minister Shasha-Bitton added that "Kindergarten children must be part of the schools of the Great Freedom. Therefore, we did not agree to give up and managed to put them in the program of the next freedom as well. We will not leave the kindergarten children behind, and make sure next year '-third'".
The school program of the Great Freedom, a summer camp subsidized according to the socio-economic situation in the locality that operates during the first three weeks of the summer vacation, began during the tenure of former Education Minister Shai Firon.
Three years ago, first- and third-grade children joined the frameworks in accordance with the original plan, and later, in the context of the Corona crisis, kindergarten children were also addressed.
Education Minister Yifat Shasha-Bitton entered the budget base for the program this year - but only for grades 1-3, as was the case with Piron's decision.
