As part of the process of reviewing the policy towards Cuba ordered by President Biden, the United States will restore the family reunification program or "family reunification parole" with Cuba and will speed up the processing of visas both in Havana and from the embassy in Guyana, to be able to normalize consular services and reach 20,000 visas per year.
This after meetings with representatives of the Cuban government in Washington on migration, according to senior US officials. Travel permits for groups also return, but not individual permits.
In turn, they will reauthorize commercial and charter flights to the island, including cities other than Havana.
There are also changes in the limit and operation of remittances.
