The photo of a notice from the University of Regensburg from 1995 causes astonishment on the Internet – but also skepticism.

The university comments on the discovery.

Regensburg - "Occupancy of the lockers" is the title of a notice that was apparently discovered at the University of Regensburg.

A Jodel user posted a picture of the note in the app on Wednesday.

The special feature: In the right corner, the Jodel user underlined the date of the document.

"Regensburg, 23.11.1995" can be read there.

The notice seems to come from the university administration and has been hanging on the lockers for a long time.

University notice in Regensburg from 1995 amazes Jodel: "I'm impressed that..."

The notice is about the fact that some of the lockers have not been occupied after the summer semester, even though they were marked with a padlock.

"Many students who urgently need a locker have therefore asked the university administration to release these lockers," it continues.

The administration therefore asks everyone to lock the cupboards or remove the "attached padlocks" by December 8, 1996 at the latest.

The document is signed by a certain “Dr.

Kredel".

Can the document really have been hanging there for so many years?

"Did you do it 'promptly' and remove the locks?" asks a Jodel user jokingly under the photo.

The person who shared the photo with the community wrote, "Most impressed that this thing lasted so long with just that one piece of tape.

I mean, this thing is probably older than most students.” The document actually looks very battered, which doesn't seem surprising to the community, since it seems to have been hanging there for “a year or two”.

University document from 1995 causes discussion on Jodel: "This is fake"

However, some users do not seem to be convinced of the authenticity of the document.

"I'm not sure if this is real.

I often have documents from the 90s at work and they are all in typewriter handwriting without exception,” someone points out.

“PC fonts like this one are only from the 2000s.” The Jodel user who uploaded the picture then asked: “But why should someone fake something like that?

By the end of 1995, the university may well have already switched to PCs.” He seems to be convinced of the authenticity of his discovery.

Another detail puzzles the critic.

“What also irritates me is that they talk about 'students'.

So, of course, the word already existed back then, but shouldn’t one have said students earlier?” Probably a justified argument.

Another user has a similar view: "It's certainly not real because of the term 'students'."

Another commented simply: "This is fake".

University of Regensburg speaks up about the yodel photo: "It can definitely be an original"

At the request of

Merkur.de

e, the University of Regensburg commented on the extraordinary find.

It looks as if the notice slipped behind a locker in 1995 or shortly thereafter, where it has survived to this day.

The dust fluff at the bottom of the paper would also speak for this.

"Now it seems to have reappeared and it may well be an original," the university writes to us.

The letterhead also corresponds to the "usual design at the university in the 1990s" and the signature also fits the head of the administration department at the time.

The term "students" could also have been used at this time.

According to the university, such actions are still taking place today to make lockers available again.

Real or not, the notice will certainly cause some excitement.
