You still don't know where to go at Pentecost?
Due to many corona loosening, vacations abroad are becoming attractive again.
These countries are particularly popular.
Most European countries can now be entered again without much effort.
3G rules are a thing of the past in many places and entry forms hardly need to be filled out.
It is therefore not surprising that interest in vacationing abroad has increased again.
But where are the Germans particularly drawn to?

The
HomeToGo
booking portal has compared which regions for the Pentecost holiday have gained in popularity compared to the previous year.
In 2021, Germany was in first place by a huge margin.
Over 70 percent of Germans searched the portal for a holiday in their own country.
In the meantime, however, the weight has shifted somewhat: for this year's Whitsun holidays, only around 40 percent of the search queries were in Germany.
The interest in holidays abroad has increased enormously again
- numerous easing of the Corona requirements are likely to be the reason for this.
Nevertheless, Germany is still in first place in 2022.
In second place follows with almost 17 percent and an
increase of over 200 percent
compared to the previous year: Italy.
Croatia was able to secure third place with almost 10 percent (113.39 percent increase).

Germany is still the most popular holiday destination for Germans this year.

There are not many surprises in this respect: the
Baltic Sea
attracts the most attention, followed closely by the
North Sea
.
Bavaria and the area around Lake Constance is also popular.
In Italy, Pentecost attracts most holidaymakers to Lake Garda and Tuscany.
Island holidays in Sardinia also have their appeal.
In Croatia, users are primarily looking for accommodation in the coveted tourist destination of Istria.
