In the Ukraine war, Russian soldiers made serious allegations against one of their commanders - apparently while he was a prisoner of war in the Ukraine.
Kyiv - The Ukraine war has also been waged on social networks since the beginning.
Both sides describe their views on Telegram, Facebook or YouTube.
Less often it is about peace negotiations, more often about military events - or direct war crimes allegations.
Ukraine War: Did a Putin General Shot Russian Soldiers?
Allegations are now circulating that one of Vladimir Putin's generals shot dead Russian soldiers wounded in the Ukraine war instead of taking care of their medical needs.
This is supposed to be proven by surveys of Russian soldiers in Ukrainian captivity.
The Ukrainian activist Volodymyr Zolkin uploaded a corresponding video on his YouTube channel on May 12, which - as of May 18 - recorded almost a million views and a good 7,000 comments.
The clip features five young men whose testimony
was translated into English by Britain's
Daily Mail .
Allegations in the Ukraine war: Putin general kills his own wounded soldiers
One of them described this scene from the battle to Zolkin.
It was about one of his Russian comrades.
“He was wounded on the ground.
He was asked if he could walk, then he was shot.” By his own general.
The general did the same with four or five other Russian soldiers, the group said.
The wounded men could have been helped: "He just finished off the wounded."
It is not clear from Zolkin's video where these acts were committed, to which battalion the soldiers involved belonged, or where those who testified in the video should be located.
Zolkin is said to be working for Open Media Ukraine.
The portal's Facebook self-description states: "We are a community of independent bloggers and journalists.
We're out of politics.
We are for a free Ukraine.”
“Carnage” in the Ukraine War?
War crimes tribunal against Putin planned
The British tabloid
Daily Mail
spoke of a "slaughter" among Russian soldiers.
Their colleagues at the conservative
New York Post
took up the report on the video.
Both quote Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov with an apparently up-to-date statement that he has "no information whatsoever" about soldiers wounded in Ukraine.
The International Criminal Court recently announced that it would send 42 investigators to Ukraine on allegations of massive war crimes, particularly against Russian soldiers.
British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss on Wednesday (May 18) openly supported a war crimes tribunal against Putin and his leadership.
