“Syrian Decorations” a musical evening by the Syrian National Band for Arab Music

With its musical evenings, the Syrian National Ensemble for Arab Music, led by Maestro Adnan Fathallah, dedicates new creative experiences in terms of musical composition and orchestral arrangement, in addition to singing and solo playing, which the troupe translated this evening under the title “Syria’s Decorations,” which was hosted on the opera stage at Dar al-Assad for Culture and Arts.

The evening was marked by the presentation of instrumental music by young Syrian composers, with the participation of musicians Hoshank Habash on the “Saz” instrument, and Haneen Melhou on the “Marimba” instrument.

She began her program by presenting the piece "Atifa", written and distributed by Maestro Fathallah.

And for the mighty musician Kenan Adnawi, the band performed, composed and distributed by him, the pieces “Tahiyyah” and “Oriental Dance”, after which they performed Malhou’s participation in “Firouziat” by the Rahbani brothers, arranged by Saleh Kateb.

The band performed a folkloric vision piece composed and played by Habash and distributed by Mahdi al-Mahdi.

As for Caprice’s piece No. 1, it came as a solo instrumental for the musical Malhou, composed and arranged by Maestro Fathallah, and the piece “Mixt” was composed and composed by Habash and orchestrated by Narek Objian.

In a statement to SANA, Maestro Fathallah confirmed that the musical academic institution represented by the Higher Institute of Music is working on graduating young authors who are familiar with musical theoretical sciences in terms of musical composition and distribution, and who have advanced tools in this field, in addition to their various programs in oriental music, which result in unique Syrian musical works.

He pointed out that the musical evenings specialized in these genres support the musical composition line of young Syrian authors, expressing the musicians' wish that there is a musical production institution similar to the Radio and Television Production Corporation that embraces their works and presents them to the Syrian audience at all times and sings the Syrian music library.
