The fruit and horticultural association Langenpreising is planning its 110th anniversary for September 11th.

At the annual general meeting, new elections were also pending and resulted in changes in the board of directors.

Langenpreising – The Langenpreising fruit and horticultural association reorganized the board of directors in a number of central positions at its annual general meeting: Berta Leitsch is the new second chairperson.

She takes over from Marlene Hofer, who did not stand for election again after 20 years on the board, to the top of the association.

Georg Salzeder remains secretary.

But there is also a new cashier: Carsten Jedam succeeds Manfred Heger, who also resigned after 20 years.

The meeting, with 65 beneficiaries, also elected Evi Kobold as second secretary.

Waltraud Steiner, Martin Hackl, Manfred Heger, Andrea Finkenzeller and Brigitte Melerowitz were appointed as assessors.

Sylvia Stadler takes care of the press work.

Simone Buchner, Christine Daud and Tina Deutinger are substitutes for the board.

Anton Sellmeier and Anton Daschinger check the cash register.

The Chair also commented on these elections that a generational change had taken place, at least in part.

She indicated that she too would not continue in office forever.

The activity reports were short due to the corona and consisted of cancellations for long stretches.

Bunches of herbs were tied, however, and the proceeds were donated to the floral decorations in the parish church, among other things.

In addition, there were a number of work assignments.

This year, however, there will be more events and offers.

"We'll get off to a good start and do a lot of things," said the First Chair.

Mayor Josef Straßer commemorated the 110th anniversary of the association.

"You do a lot," he praised.

"You even support those who don't help - like me." In the fall, a work assignment is coming up: flower bulbs are to be buried where the community coat of arms used to be in flowers.

August Groh represented the district association.

He announced that the club from Wartenberg would come to the anniversary.

Chairwoman Rosi Daschinger said that the district association was also urgently needed - "because of the pile of certificates." The honors should be made at the anniversary celebration on September 10th in the arched hall.

The association currently has around 300 members, as August Groh noted with some pride.

Secretary Georg Salzeder was more precise: "The membership level has remained almost constant." Despite Corona, the cash register even closed with a very slight plus.

The club wants to offer a full annual program this year after two years of most of it being canceled.

A trip to the Allgäu is to take place on July 10th.

Details on this have not yet been determined.

On August 15 (Assumption of Mary) herb bundles are to be consecrated.

There should be a holiday program – on September 6th from 2 p.m.

Meeting point is the Zanklstadl.

The details are already set here: “All about the apple” should be the topic.

Youth officer Natalie Kienmüller-Stadler coordinates the dates together with Holger Scheiding.

The central event, however, will be the club's anniversary, which will take place on September 11th in the archery hall of the marksmen.

It begins at 5 p.m. with a prayer service.

The awards should be made at this time.

A joint dinner is planned and the Strogentaler will play for entertainment.

Chairwoman Rosa Daschinger had a request to cashier Jedam because of the festival: He should please "put on the donation pants."

The Gartler Kirta is scheduled to take place on October 17th.

The popular format was launched twelve years ago by the current honorary chairman, Josef Kriegmair.

And there will be another winter market in Langenpreising on November 19th and 20th, and here the gardeners will be part of the party.
