"Caution and prudence" was the Bavarian Corona motto for a long time.
After the abolition of many rules, the government actually relies on personal responsibility.
Munich – Bavaria followed a strict course in the corona pandemic.
But at some point "team caution and prudence" became "team sense of proportion" and "team relaxation".
With “Freedom Day” at the beginning of April, most of the rules fell.
But the state government around Markus Söder warned: Corona was not over yet and appealed to continue to wear a mask and keep your distance.
Corona rules expired - Söder criticized for hopping at the folk festival
Markus Söder - himself infected with Corona - was at a folk festival in the beer tent immediately after his recovery.
The CSU boss was harshly criticized for this.
"From isolation straight to the beer tent, role model?" was one of the things to read.
Criticism also came from Munich's Lord Mayor Dieter Reiter when he announced that the Wiesn will take place in 2022: "I note that the Bavarian Minister of Health, Mr. Holetschek, warns every day of the dangers of autumn, while the Bavarian Prime Minister is at all festivals , which is taking place right now - without a mask, with a beer mug in your hand and without distance."

Bavaria's Minister of Health criticized - "And again the mask is missing from the guy with a role model function!"
Now Bavaria's health minister is also being criticized.
On a picture that shows him with other people at the "500 Years Fuggerei" ceremony in Augsburg without a mask and distance, someone comments on Facebook: "And again the mask is missing from the guy with a role model function!" And another person criticizes: "Me don't understand the world anymore, don't you still want to wear the mask?"
In an interview with the
Augsburger Allgemeine
in early April, Holetschek said, with a view to the expiring measures, that he thinks it's good if a bit of normality returns.
"But I would have also wished that wearing the mask indoors as a low-threshold instrument would remain mandatory for four weeks." The Ministry of Health's website currently (May 18) continues to point out compliance with the AHA rules (distance - hygiene - everyday mask).
Corona: criticism of Holetschek
On May 9, Holetschek then posted a photo with Hans-Peter Rauch, President of the Swabian Chamber of Crafts.
Both stand next to each other without mask and distance.
Someone ironically comments on the photo: "Please get vaccinated forever and wear the mask forever, it's for your own safety and that of your fellow citizens!!! Thank you for your help."
But: Holetschek said in the interview with the
Augsburger Allgemeine
that he would continue to wear the mask indoors for the next few weeks.
In the criticized photo he is outside in the fresh air.

Corona criticism of Holetschek: "You probably don't need to say anything more about this double standard"
And under a photo of the CSU Maibock Festival in Dietmannsried, which shows Holetschek with four other people without a distance and mask, the following comment can be found: "You probably don't need to say anything more about this double standard".
The profile of the Bavarian Minister of Health also shows numerous photos with a mask - but that doesn't seem to appease the critics.
