Bad Wiessee – Plans for the Strüngmann Hotel on the Lederer/Spielbank area in Bad Wiessee have repeatedly been rejected.
Now there is a next step.
The realization of the hotel project on the former Lederer/Spielbank area in Bad Wiessee has been a long time coming.
Actually, the construction work should start in the fourth quarter of 2020.
But plans were repeatedly discarded and rescheduling made - most recently as a reaction to the corona pandemic and changes in travel behavior.
About two months ago, the representatives of the Strüngmann company presented a new schedule.
The first point are measures to prepare for construction in the current year, which have already been tackled.
In late winter, some trees were felled and shrubs cleared on the future construction site with the approval of the Lower Nature Conservation Authority.
Piles of gravel on the site already point to the next step, which was on the agenda at the most recent meeting of the building committee.
Use gravel and recycled rubble
It was about an application for a permit for necessary excavations.
Building authority director Anton Bammer explained the application to the committee.
The existing soil material is not suitable for driving on and setting up heavy construction equipment.
Therefore, large areas of the property would have to be dug up or treated as part of soil improvement measures before the digging of the excavation pit could begin.
These are about fillings made earlier and the remains of existing basement areas of the demolished buildings that would have to be removed.
In the area of the future construction site, a complete replacement of the soil down to a depth of one meter will first be carried out, Bammer explained. The excavated area will then be filled up again in layers.
Gravel and recycled construction waste are to be used as filling material.
The work is to be divided into a southern and a northern section, with the ground cutting road forming the boundary but not itself being part of the measures.
Start of the excavations still in May 2022
According to the company, excavation should begin in May 2022.
According to the current status, however, June and July are more realistic as dates, noted building authority director Anton Bammer: "They want to get started soon."
With a view to the start of construction for the mammoth project, Florian Sareiter (CSU) asked whether the initiators had already submitted final proposals for traffic planning.
"An existential point, especially in the high season," he warned.
The emissions from the construction site and the arrivals and departures would put an extreme strain on the place, also with regard to other large construction projects in the place that are scheduled to start in 2022: "It will be a disaster."
Criticism of the logistics of the construction site
The construction site logistics are an important point, agreed Bammer.
Nonetheless, nothing concrete has been submitted so far, "although we've mentioned it more than once."
The trucks would definitely have to be hosed down with water when leaving the construction site, added Johannes von Miller (Greens), to prevent the streets in the spa district from being contaminated with construction site dirt.
In the end, the application for the Strüngmann project was approved unanimously – with the proviso that the work must not impair or endanger adjacent street areas, neighboring houses, lines and canals.
