Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov revealed that his country's forces used a modern laser weapon for the first time during their military operation in Ukraine.
In an interview with Russia's Channel One today, Borisov said: "The talk is about a new defensive laser system called Zadera, which would hit a target at a distance of up to five kilometers."
He added, "The delivery of these laser systems to the Russian army has begun, and the first copies of them are used during the special military operation in Ukraine."
And Borisov had previously announced that Zadera represented a new generation of laser weapons compared to the Russian Peresvet system capable of "blinding" satellites.
During previous tests, Zadira succeeded in burning a drone five kilometers away, according to the Russian official.
