The school has always attached great importance to environmental education. In addition to building a tree house for students on campus last year, this year we also take advantage of different advantages to create a learning environment close to nature for students, and provide students with learning environment conservation chance.

Greening the campus starts with me

This year, the school also participated in the Greening School Subsidy Scheme organised by the LCSD.

Unlike previous years, student engagement is higher than ever.

In addition to participating in garden planting on campus, students have the opportunity to become small farmers and learn about different farming tools and usage methods.

In addition, we are also actively developing hydroponic planting, adding several hydroponic planting machines on campus, allowing students to experience alternative planting fun.

In addition, we implemented the "one person, one vegetable" plan, allowing students to recycle plastic bottles to grow vegetables, so as to make the best use of everything and reduce waste.

As Hong Kong's landfills become increasingly saturated, we have a responsibility to teach students how to use materials wisely and reduce waste.

In view of this, we have carried out a series of DIY environmental protection activities, including: DIY juicer, DIY recycling bucket, DIY solar eco-bottle, DIY automatic water-absorbing flowerpot, DIY environmentally friendly cleaner and so on.

Students can not only recycle waste materials, but also apply STEM knowledge in their daily life, combining learning with fun, killing two birds with one stone.

Community Environmental Education Activities

In conjunction with the syllabus of General Studies, environmental education elements are added at each level, so that all students in the school have the opportunity to experience green life.

We also work with different groups to promote environmental education and increase student exposure.

For example: cooperating with Wetland Park to develop a small volunteer program, allowing students to participate in training and becoming docents to serve the public, but unfortunately the progress of the plan was affected by the epidemic; cooperating with good people to set up a recirculating water fish farming system on the campus , let students understand the marine ecosystem; cooperate with different kindergartens, arrange environmental protection activities for them when receiving them, so that they can learn the importance of environmental protection; cooperate with the "Happy Green Seed Project" to open up a small farmland in the school, Let students experience the work of farmers, add hydroponic facilities on campus, and let students make and grow different plants together.
