Since the start of the covid-19 pandemic, hate crimes against Asians have increased in the United States.
Michelle Tran, an American of Chinese and Vietnamese descent living in New York, was appalled by the increase in attacks and wanted to do something to help her community.
She so founded Soar Over Hate, a community that has distributed more than 25,000 personal safety devices to Asian Americans and conducts self-defense classes.
