Three months after its creation, the Cold Cases division is already running at full speed, although its workforce is far from complete.
Of the 240 cases initially identified as being able to fall within its definition, a small dozen are already either in the office of the only investigating judge already in place, Sabine Kheris, - seven files - or at the prosecution for follow-up in preliminary investigation.

Currently being assessed, around fifty cases have arrived at the center via lawyers for the families of the victims, or directly by the victims themselves, by spontaneous mention of other courts and public prosecutors in France, or even by research in open sources from the prosecutors of the pole itself who have gone through television broadcasts and regional press archives.

Some cases that had a dismissal order from the investigating office were thus reopened in preliminary investigation.
