The Directorate of Plant Production in the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform indicated that the area planted with summer vegetables for this season has so far reached 23,449 hectares of the planned plan amounting to 83,315 hectares, with an implementation rate of about 28 percent.

The Director of Plant Production in the Ministry, Engineer Ahmed Haider, indicated in a statement to SANA that the area planted in several governorates of the potato crop for the spring crop amounted to 14,272 hectares, out of the planned area of ​​2017,0,0 hectares, with an implementation rate of 71 percent, and the cultivated area of ​​summer sweet potatoes amounted to 1,061 hectares of the planned plan, 1389 hectares. Execution of about 76 percent.

As for the tomato crop for this season, Haider confirmed that the cultivated area amounted to about 6260 hectares of the planned plan, 11,439 hectares, indicating that the estimates of garlic production this season amount to about 45,718 tons.

Haidar stated that 2,082 hectares were planted with the yellow corn crop from the main loop, and the area planted with the cotton crop for this season amounted to 23,268 hectares of the planned plan amounting to 57,365 hectares, including 4950 hectares in Deir Ezzor, 12 thousand hectares in Raqqa, 5910 hectares in Hasaka, 255 hectares in Al-Ghab and 6 hectares in Hama and 147 in Aleppo.

Haidar pointed out that the harvest of wheat and barley crops began in some governorates, as 25 hectares of wheat were harvested in Homs and 5,032 hectares of barley in Homs and Aleppo.
