How is the corona situation in your district right now, how tense is the situation in the hospitals and how are vaccinations progressing in Germany?

The 7-day incidence is one of the most important numbers of the Corona* pandemic so far.
Our interactive map shows how many new infections per 100,000 inhabitants were registered within a week.

Corona virus in Germany: infections and incidences
Our searchable data table shows the counties' 7-day incidences*, sorted in descending order.
Clicking on the arrow sorts the incidence values in ascending order.
This shows in which region the fewest infections were recently reported.
The authorities record all cases of infection confirmed by PCR here.
Vaccinations against the coronavirus
Vaccination is considered the best way to prevent a severe course of the corona virus.
The vaccination campaign started on December 27, 2020, and since then more than 160 million first, second and booster doses have been vaccinated.
Our daily updated pie charts indicate what percentage of the German population has received one, two or three vaccinations.
(We will make this visualization available again shortly, thank you for your understanding.)
Corona pandemic: intensive care beds and hospitalization
The hospitalization incidence is currently considered an important unit of measurement to describe the situation in the clinics.
Our line chart shows the number of corona patients reported per week who were treated or recognized in the hospital.
Like the incidence of new infections, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) gives this value per 100,000 inhabitants.
The so-called updated hospitalization incidence increases later due to late registrations.
The following pie chart takes a look at the situation in German intensive care units.
This shows the distribution of corona sufferers, other patients and free intensive care beds.
The basis is daily data on the utilization and capacities of the German intensive care units.
In general, only beds that can actually be used and for which staff are available, for example, are recorded.
Corona deaths in Germany
Despite hygiene measures, lockdowns and vaccinations, the corona pandemic has claimed more than 100,000 lives in Germany alone.
The line chart shows the weekly average of the daily reported cases.
Because the causes of death are not always clear and several factors can interact, it is not possible to clearly distinguish whether the people died of or with a Covid 19 infection.
How up-to-date is the Corona data?

Transparency: Our data, sources and methods
The database for the interactive elements in this article are various interfaces of the Robert Koch Institute and the Divi intensive care register.
We integrate their data daily and automatically.
Of course, these figures can only be as up-to-date as they are provided by the authorities.
For example, there is always a delay from the occurrence of the infection until the final report to the RKI.
Likewise, a lack of PCR tests can mean that some infections are not recognized or not reported.
