The General Company for Cables Industry in Damascus has completed the initial experiments to manufacture a new type of cable that is used to transmit electricity in solar energy systems.
The general manager of the company, Abdul Qader Al-Qaddour, explained in a statement to the representative of SANA that the manufacture of this type of cable comes within the framework of the company’s response to the government’s directives to localize the manufacture of renewable energy requirements, which opens new business fronts for the company in light of the increasing local demand in relying on renewable energies, especially solar panels from As a result of the economic blockade imposed on the country and the decline in the production of electric power by traditional methods, indicating that this type of cable enjoys the best cable specifications in the local market in terms of conductivity and resistance to climate factors.
Al-Kaddour indicated that the company continues to develop its capacity and supply its production lines with new machines and modernize the existing machines to meet the increasing needs of various types of cables, noting in this context that two modern insulation machines were recently installed and put into service.
Al-Qadour warned against the continuous attempts to counterfeit the products of the Damascus Cable Company by some informal workshops and laboratories, and to offer the company’s products of cables under the names (Hosh Plus) and (Dama Cable) in many governorates, taking advantage of the citizens’ confidence in the quality of the company’s products and offering products under the same name, but they do not. It has neither the standard nor the required quality, calling on citizens to be aware of this matter and to inform the regulatory authorities to pursue manufacturers and promoters of these counterfeit and irregular products, which often cause fire accidents in homes and facilities.
According to the company’s production and marketing report, during the first four months of this year, the company produced 1,219 tons of various types of cables, with a value of more than 40.208 billion Syrian pounds, and an implementation rate of 130 percent, while the company was able to market 1,257 tons of cables, worth 37.163 billion pounds, achieving estimated profits. About 9.130 billion pounds.
