(ANSA) - TRENTO, MAY 18 - The Carabinieri of the Operational Aliquota of the Borgo Valsugana Company have reported to the judicial authority for multiple manslaughter three people held responsible for the death of Sandro Prada, 51 years old, and of his thirteen year old daughter, Elisa, which took place in Baselga diPinè , in Trentino, on 20 August 2021, while they were traveling aboard a motorcycle purchased a few days earlier.
The three suspects are the owner of the dealership where the motorcycle was purchased and the two mechanics employed.
The victims, due to the loss of control of the vehicle, had gone off the road falling into the cliff close to the hairpin downhill on the SP 83.
The Carabinieri, coordinated by the Prosecutor's Office of Trento, not neglecting the hypothesis that the event could have been caused by a mechanical failure, at the time seized the bike, which, subjected to an expert opinion, was later found to be badly assembled.
According to what was verified by the carabinieri, in fact, one of the bolts inserted in the front brake caliper had come out of its respective housing, causing the brake to malfunction.
Before the rescuers arrived, it was his wife and other daughter who found Sandro Prada and his daughter Elisa.
Ladonna, worried because she had no more news from the afternoon at 16 and because her husband and daughter did not answer the phone, had used an application installed on the 13-year-old's smartphone that allows localization with GPS.
Rescuers had only arrived later, when a passing forest ranger noticed distant beacons in the woods.
Once on the spot, the rescuers had found the two women watching over the lifeless bodies of their relatives.
