Unfortunately not an isolated case, but rather the rule: legacies of a party company that celebrated carnival at Mammendorfer See.

According to the administration, politicians have also spoken out in favor of a curfew including a ban on glass at Lake Mammendorf.

However, less strict than suggested.

Mammendorf – The curfew should last from midnight to 6 a.m. and not start at 10 p.m.

It also applies seven days a week with no special regulation at the weekend.

The responsible culture committee of the district council agreed unanimously on this.

The background is the fact that wild parties have been celebrated at the lake more and more recently, leaving a lot of rubbish behind.

In addition, the party-goers had smashed bottles, leaving shards lying around, which was particularly annoying.

Mammendorfer See: Swimming naked is punished with up to 1000 euros

In addition to the curfew and the ban on glass, the new version of the relevant statute also includes the requirement to wear swimwear.

Anyone who violates this can be fined up to 1000 euros, which Sophie Schuhmacher (Greens) now found a bit steep in the committee.

She asked about the exact definition of a matching swimwear.

Answer from the administration quite simple: You are not allowed to bathe naked.

Overall, Schuhmacher understood the measures, but was also concerned that the police and security service could contribute more to escalation than de-escalation.

In addition, the problem will probably only be shifted by bans.

Mammendorfer See: The question remains - what is excessive alcohol consumption?

Meanwhile, Daniel Holmer (Greens) wanted to know how the term “excessive alcohol consumption”, which is also contained in the statutes, should be understood.

That is of course difficult to define, said the FW district councilor Johann Thurner from Mammendorf.

He was last called out himself when young people brought 20 beer crates in seven shopping trolleys from the supermarket and then left them there.

Thurner asked: "Who knows a better formulation?" No one in the culture committee submitted an answer.

Christian Stangl (Greens) pointed out, somewhat humorously, that the term "moderate" (measure?) is interpreted quite tolerantly in Bavaria.

Above all, Thurner complained about the shards in the meadow.

"Nobody here wants a bather to lie down in the meadow and suddenly have a piece of glass in their butt." He emphasized that the statutes also allow exceptions.

Mammendorfer See: Statute gives the police a legal handle

Stangl underlined what it is all about: The statute gives the police a handle to issue evictions if necessary.

Besides, the officials don't act like black sheriffs, said Stangl, in order to put the fear of an overly strict interpretation into perspective.

Daniel Liebetruth (SPD), meanwhile, didn't really like the glass ban.

He asked if signs wouldn't do.

For this he got a rarely clear rebuff from the chairperson of the session, Martina Drechsler (CSU).

"I'm not going with that, signs don't help," she said with a broad nod from the panel.

Ultimately, the culture committee voted unanimously for the new statutes with a curfew from midnight and for the ban on glass, which of course does not apply to the host terrace.

The vote is considered a clear direction for the district council, which has the last word on the matter.
