The Defense Minister addressed the opposition chairman with the aim of getting him to vote for the plan: "Hopefully they will understand the need and allow it to be transferred" • Some Likud members asked to vote in favor

"Education uniform" law storm:

Defense Minister Bnei Gantz spoke with opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu today (Wednesday), with the aim of convincing him to join forces with the Likud and opposition parties to pass the "Dimensions for Education" bill and vote for it. Meanwhile, Likud MKs asked Vote for the law and there will likely be an internal vote on the proposal before it goes to the polls on Monday.

Ganz posted on his Twitter page about his appeal to Likud chairman Netanyahu: "I have now spoken with opposition chairman Benjamin Netanyahu and asked him to fire them and this Monday to pass the 'Dimensions for Education' bill for IDF fighters.

We talked about the essence of the bill and its rationale and also about its importance to our fighters.

I believe and hope that the Likud and the opposition parties will understand the need and enable its transfer. "

As mentioned, the Likud is still debating whether to vote on the plan.

In light of an appeal by MKs from the Likud, including Gila Gamliel, Keren Barak, Yoav Galant and other MKs, the Likud will probably hold a vote on the "Uniforms for Education" law before it goes to the polls on Monday.

MKs Nir Barkat and Eli Cohen also want to support the law.

Likud sources told Israel Today: "The conversation between Ganz and Netanyahu was initiated by Netanyahu. We want to reach agreements that will allow the law to be approved. We do not want to be fortified. We care about the fighters.

They want to accuse us of not passing the law."
