Health launches an intensive national campaign to vaccinate against the Corona virus next Sunday

The Director of Primary Health Care at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Razan Al-Tarabishi, revealed the launch of an intensive national campaign to vaccinate against the Corona virus under the slogan “A new opportunity to be safe”, starting from the 22nd of this month until the 2nd of next June.

Dr. Al-Tarabishi explained in a statement to SANA reporter that the campaign targets all citizens over the age of 18 in all governorates by going directly to approved centers in hospitals, health centers and mobile teams equipped with an official mission.

Al-Tarabishi confirmed that the ministry has completed all technical and logistical preparations to launch the campaign and reach all citizens by securing its requirements and providing mobile teams with heat packs to ensure that vaccines are kept safely.

According to Dr. Al-Tarabishi, about 7,400 health workers are participating in the campaign through 37 hospitals, 986 health centers and 386 mobile teams, noting that the number of people who received the vaccine completely in Syria reached 3,400,000 people, including 51,000 support doses.

Al-Tarabishi stressed that the vaccine is the only solution to maintain the stability of the epidemiological situation and eliminate the pandemic, especially as most countries of the world are awaiting the fifth wave of the spread of the virus, explaining that the vaccine is safe, effective and free, and that according to the recent recommendations of the World Health Organization, it is allowed to be given to pregnant or breastfeeding women, while contraindications are limited. Given an allergy to a previous vaccine dose or a current infection with the virus.
