A rider from the Main-Taunus region suffers serious injuries.
Grünberg - The discussion about the risk and danger potential in eventing has also reached the region of Central Hesse in the amateur and junior area and received new topics of conversation.
The youngster and eventing tournament of the RuF Grünberg from the Gießen district last weekend at the club's own facility "In der Au" was overshadowed by a tragic accident.
A 33-year-old rider from the Main-Taunus region sustained serious injuries in a horror fall.
After the emergency medical care on site, which was immediately guaranteed by the organizer, the athlete was flown to the Gießen University Hospital with the requested rescue helicopter from Johanniterhilfe, as reported by giessener-allgemeine.de.
Grünberg (Giessen district): Woman in a coma after a riding accident
According to confirmed information from those close to her, the rider lost consciousness immediately after the fatal fall and was still in a coma four days after the accident due to a brain hemorrhage.
Further investigations did not indicate any damage to the spine, but revealed a pelvic and hip fracture.
When asked, no information could be obtained from the press office of the Gießen University Hospital with reference to confidentiality.
The Central Hesse police confirmed the process and stated that they had started the investigation on the day of the accident.
Gießen district: Grünberger riding tournament initially canceled after an accident
The organizing RuF Grünberg has meanwhile published a "Get well soon" post on its Facebook page as an expression of its dismay and dismay, referring to the equestrian accident.
From the club from the Main-Taunus region, for which the 33-year-old eventing athlete took part in the tournament, both telephone and written inquiries from the editors have so far remained unanswered.
The Grünberg tournament with cross-country and cross-country riding competitions was canceled on the day of the accident, but the dressage and jumping tests on Sunday then took place again as planned.
