Iranian border guards stop a ship carrying smuggled fuel

Tehran, SANA- The Commander of the Border Guards in Hormozgan Province, southern Iran, announced the arrest of a ship carrying 550,000 liters of fuel

The commander of the border guards in Hormozgan province, southern Iran, announced the arrest of a ship carrying 550,000 liters of smuggled fuel.

And the Iranian Fars news agency quoted Colonel Hossein Dahki as saying in a press statement: "The border guards at the Bandar Lengah naval base succeeded, during an operation in the protection area, and in intelligence cooperation with the border guards in Bushehr province, in detecting a ship carrying smuggled fuel to transport it to another area."

Dahki pointed out that "during the inspection of the ship, the border guards managed to find 550,000 liters of smuggled diesel, and arrest 7 smugglers."

Last Saturday, the Iranian authorities announced the arrest of a ship off the coast of Hormuzgan carrying 42,000 liters of smuggled fuel, and the arrest of its crew.
