The DWD expects thunderstorms and heavy rain for Lower Saxony on Thursday and Friday.

Temperatures are expected to drop on Saturday.

Hamburg/Hannover - It's going to be wet, and really: The German Weather Service (DWD) is expecting heavy thunderstorms and heavy rain in many parts of the state for Lower Saxony on Thursday and especially on Friday.

On Friday, south of the northern Emsland - Bremen - Wendland line, thunderstorms and heavy rain with up to 40 liters per square meter are to be expected, said a meteorologist from the DWD in Hamburg.

But north of it, heavy, widespread rain is to be expected.

Here, too, up to 20 liters of rain per square meter can fall.

Thunderstorms are likely to form in the second half of Thursday, especially in central and western Lower Saxony, with occasional heavy rainfall of up to 25 liters per square meter.

For Saturday, the meteorologists are expecting cooler temperatures of 17 to 21 degrees, with the highest values ​​expected in southern Lower Saxony.

A fresh north-west wind will bring cooler air into the country and there will be showers here and there, it was said.

Windy, changeable weather with temperatures of 17 to 22 degrees is to be expected for the next week.
