A Porsche Cayenne driver is in a chase through the city with the Munich police.

Not even shots stop the sports car driver.

Munich – Hollywood could not have written more impressively what happened on Tuesday shortly before midnight in the south of Munich.

What was supposed to be a normal vehicle check quickly turned into a chase through Munich.

In the end, a police officer even had to draw his gun and shoot at the fleeing sports car.

Only by joining forces did the police manage to apprehend the fugitive Porsche driver.

Porsche driver races through Munich: Red lights and shots don't stop him

At around 11:45 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, a Munich police patrol noticed a Porsche Cayenne.

This drove quite conspicuously on the Tegernseer Landstraße - near McGraw-Graben.

The officers then decided to check the vehicle.

They drew the driver's attention to this, but he did not pull over, but pressed the accelerator pedal.

He fled at high speed in the direction of the Grossmarkthalle (Sendling district).

Then it went over the Tegernseer Landstraße, the Candid tunnel, the Brudermühlstraße and the Schäftlarnstraße.

The speeder ignored red traffic lights.

In the Schäftlarnstraße, the police managed to get the Porsche driver to stop, according to the press release from the Munich police.

When the chase was temporarily halted, officers decided to get out and check on the Cayenne driver.

This targeted one of the officers and drove towards him.

He drew his service weapon and fired in the direction of the Porsche.

Apparently the driver wasn't impressed.

He kept walking towards the policeman.

He was able to save himself with a jump to the side.

The Porsche driver then fled again.

The sports car could only be stopped at Isartalstrasse when other thieves joined the chase.

There were three occupants in the Porsche.

A 29-year-old from Munich and two 22-year-old companions.

One of them was driving.

The three were not injured by the shots fired.

However, the 22-year-old and the 29-year-old suffered minor injuries when they changed drivers.

The handcuffs of the 29-year-old Porsche driver then clicked.

He was arrested.

His companions were released after the officers took their personal details.

Commissariat 11 is now taking over further investigations. There is an attempted dangerous bodily harm and several road traffic offenses in the room.

The Bavarian State Criminal Police Office and the Munich I public prosecutor's office also routinely check the police officer's use of firearms.
