Russia's permanent representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, blamed Western countries for impeding the supply of fertilizers to the global market as a result of the sanctions they imposed on Moscow.
Russia Today website quoted Nebenzia as saying: "Russia is ready to supply fertilizers to the global market, but the sanctions imposed by the West are hampering this, as sanctions have been imposed in the field of shipping, insurance and banking."
Nebenzia added that the United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres had previously suggested during his visit to Moscow removing the restrictions that prevent the supply of fertilizers from Russia in order to guarantee the supply of products, but the issue of supplying Russian fertilizers in exchange for the export of Ukrainian grain has not yet been discussed.
And Russia's First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov had recently discussed the issue of exporting fertilizers from Russia to the global market because markets, especially in agricultural countries, are in dire need.
