(CNN Spanish) ––

The opposition leader and political prisoner Yubrank Suazo was captured at his home in the city of Masaya, as reported on Wednesday by the Nicaraguan Center for Human Rights (Cenidh) through its social networks.

The Nicaraguan National Police has not officially reported the causes of Suazo's arrest.

CNN requested information from the Public Relations area and has not yet received a response.

The opposition coalition Alianza Cívica por la Justicia y la Democracia demanded on its Twitter account freedom and respect for Suazo's physical and mental integrity.

And he published that he "was illegally, arbitrarily and violently detained in his house."

Days ago, Suazo denounced on his social networks the presence of motorcycles in front of his parents' house.

Suazo actively participated in the protests against the government in 2018. That year he was arrested and accused of financing the roadblocks in the city of Masaya.

He was released on June 11, 2019, benefiting from an amnesty law approved in the National Assembly.
