Paris on the Dan: Why does the whole country come to Oz Patisserie? | Israel today

2022-05-18T07:33:28.909Z

Sometimes you do not have to fly abroad to feel abroad, and Oz Shachari's place in the north of the country is exactly the example • Maya Darin came to visit, and of course a tasting, the new and spectacular location

Oz Patisserie's new location is the kind of place that reminds me that you should not cross continents and you should look for local gems.

True, the pearl in the heart of the Nahal Snir Reserve is unpolished and has a wild beauty and a relaxed Israeli atmosphere - and maybe that's a good thing.

Oz Shachari's new cafe sits on a stream and shaded creek in a canopy of fig and strawberry trees.

Peacocks and chickens run around algae and on quiet days it is only violated by the ripples of the water or the courtship of a stubborn peacock.

With the long-awaited move to the new place, Oz expanded his activities and at the end of the volatile Corona era he created a cafe - a great northern patisserie.

Oz's name is well-established, well-known and his customers come from all over the country to taste some of his sweet and wonderful creations.

They shower him with praise and applause and are surprised to find that behind the thriving brand stands a modest young man dressed in simple cook clothes and wrapped in a flour-stained apron.

The birth cords of a new place turned Shachari into a chef, patisserie chef, dishwasher, piccolo and waiter.

The tremendous response during a challenging period characterized by a shortage of working hands does not overwhelm him and he boasts a big smile and full satisfaction even at the end of a shift of 15 consecutive working hours.
