The Erlangen Bergkirchweih is imminent.

There will again be a safe space for women.

However, the concept has changed.

The famous folk festival runs from June 2nd to 13th.

Bergkirchweih 2022 in Erlangen: Safe Space for women and girls

There will once again be a safe space for women and girls.

According to the city, the "rescue island" campaign was first launched in 2015 in cooperation with the Frauennotruf Erlangen eV and was carried out until 2019.

"From the Erlangen Bergkirchweih 2022, the concept, the logo and the name of the campaign will change, but not the intention," the city announced.

Point of contact for girls and women when they are unsure or tired, need a break or have lost their group.

Or maybe just a safe return home needs to be organized.

If there has been violence or sexualized violence, competent contact persons are on site and will provide assistance if desired.

Erlangen Bergkirchweih 2022: Safe Space for women and girls - central contact point

According to the city, the following is new with regard to the Safe Space at the Bergkirchweih 2022: “There is only one central contact point in the new parish hall of the old town parish (Bayreuther Straße).

This is looked after by Frauennotruf Erlangen eV and female students from various disciplines.”

Even before the Bergkirchweih has started, one thing is certain: the Maß beer will be more expensive than ever before.
