On Friday evening, two people are said to have been forgotten in a Ferris wheel gondola on the Regensburg Maidult.
Not so, as it turned out now.
Regensburg – At the start of the week, a curious headline made the rounds: at the Maidult in Regensburg, two young men are said to have been forgotten in a gondola of the Ferris wheel.
The operator of the ride ended his shift, although the two people were still in the ride.
But now there was a surprising twist in the case: the two men, aged 18 and 20, were not forgotten in the ride.
Regensburg Maidult: New twist in the Ferris wheel incident
As the
BR
reports with reference to the information provided by the ride operator Sebastian Willenborg, the two district residents crept onto a gondola at an accessible height after the end of the day and locked themselves in there.
After some time, however, the two realized that they were no longer sure whether the Ferris wheel was still moving and could no longer make out in the darkness at what height they were.
So they alerted the police.
They then called the showman and a foreman opened the gondola and freed the men.
"If they drank two or three more beers, then they no longer know where left and right is and then they preferred to call the police before they crashed," Willenborg tells
BR
.
According to him, the gondola was on the lower right edge of the ride.
