Damascus-SANA

Through a musical evening revived by the Arabic music quintet, led by Maestro Hadi Parsley, entitled “Creativity in Memory” at the Artists Syndicate’s Events Hall in Damascus, the Syndicate heralded the season of reviving the concerts of its cultural and artistic project.

Within an hour and a half, the band presented a synthesis of Arabic music pieces Sama'i, Longa Nahwand, The Devil's Dance by Muhammad Abdul Karim and Kaif by Melhem Barakat and Kalthumiyat, in addition to two lyric segments, one by Khaldoun Hennawi and the other by promising young woman Ahlam Deeb. The evening ended with a medley of patriotic songs.

During the evening, the Artists Syndicate honored two artistic figures who had an impact that distinguished them locally, Arably and internationally, namely Amin Khayat and Naim Hamdi.

In a speech, the head of the Artists Syndicate, Mohsen Ghazi, announced the Syndicate’s cultural and artistic project, which was launched from the evening after its hiatus for about twenty years, stressing that the Artists Syndicate in Syria is a pioneer at the level of the unions of the Arab world, but it was deficient in the field of artistic activity due to preoccupations related to the advancement of other aspects.

According to Ghazi, the syndicate is looking forward to reaching understandings with all ministries and relevant authorities regarding opening a new page for coordination with the Film Industry Committee and the Public Authority for Radio and Television with the aim of investing in the arts, considering that art in its most comprehensive concept is a refinement of the soul and soul, and performing it is a duty of its workers towards their homeland.

The deputy head of the Syndicate of Musical Artists Hadi Parsley explained in a statement to SANA that in light of the expansion witnessed by the Syndicate in the cultural field, especially the Arabic music quintet project, the latter witnessed a development in terms of adding some Western instruments to the oriental takht instruments that it included, along with lyrical paragraphs.

The musical evening was attended by the head of the Culture and Information Office in the Central Command of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party, Dr. Mahdi Dakhlallah, the Secretary of the Damascus Countryside Branch of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party, Radwan Mustafa, and a group of senior artists.
