When the case resumed in the District Court today (18th), the prosecution said it would continue to prosecute.
The judge made a ruling on the same day, emphasizing that X was not lying, but believed that her testimony could not be accepted beyond reasonable doubt, and ruled that the defendant was not guilty
The defendant, Ma Honghui (60 years old), was accused of indecently assaulting a 9-year-old girl X at a children's house on a certain day in May and June 2020.

The girl said she hated the accused in a video testimony yesterday.
The defense showed the girl her painting, which read "I love you Vincent uncle (defendant)".
After the girl admitted that she liked the defendant, but no longer liked him, she became emotional and the judge adjourned the case to this day.
The prosecution said this morning that it would continue to prosecute, and explained that because the defense is still questioning, but the prosecution will re-examine the girl later, and will only ask questions such as the number of the room involved.
Officials say girls will suffer more if they are cross-examined again
Defense lawyer Su Guoqiang expressed that he did not want the girl to be under more pressure and sought instructions from the court.
The judge said the trauma might have been greater if the girl continued to be questioned, but said he was unable to give instructions.
The defense finally explained its case to the girl, saying that the defendant had not molested her. After the girl denied it, the defense could complete the cross-examination.
Emphasis on ruling not referring to girls lying
The judge ruled that the defendant's testimony was established, and also pointed out that X clearly told the incident, but was extremely excited when he was cross-examined.
The judge thought that it was appropriate for the defense to suspend the cross-examination, but it did not mean that the court would automatically accept X's evidence.
The judge continued that he did not accuse X of lying, but believed that her testimony could not be accepted beyond reasonable doubt and ruled that the defendant was not guilty.
The defence subsequently applied for costs, which was rejected by the judge.
