Occupied Jerusalem-SANA
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemned today the provocative incursions by Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett into the northern West Bank, stressing that they reflect the occupation's insistence on expanding settlement operations in flagrant violation of international law, the Geneva Conventions and resolutions of international legitimacy.
In a statement carried by Wafa Agency, the ministry indicated that Bennett's repeated provocative "visits" to settlements established in the northern West Bank, under the protection of the occupation forces, is an incursion into occupied Palestinian land, indicating that the Prime Minister of the occupation government, with his incursions and giving the green light to his forces using live bullets against the Palestinians, defies the international community and the United Nations and its decisions. It requires the UN Security Council to fulfill its responsibilities.
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry pointed out that the establishment of settlements as a fait accompli does not change international law and international legitimacy resolutions that state that settlements in all its forms are illegal, foremost of which is Security Council Resolution 2334, which calls for a halt to settlements.
