A 34-year-old from Diessen has had to answer to the Munich district court since last week because he hit an 87-year-old woman from Wessobrunn while under the influence of drugs.

Now police officers have testified and psychiatrists who recommend putting the man in a rehabilitation center.

Wessobrunn – At the start of the trial, the 87-year-old testified that the accused suddenly stood on her terrace on the outskirts of Wessobrunn, grabbed her and "continuously boxed and kicked" her with both fists.

He kept shouting, "You old witch.

I'll do you now.” She feared that the 34-year-old would “slaughter her with relish”.

In her fear of death, however, she managed to drag herself to the front door and lock out the attacker.

As officials from the Murnau border police, who had been called in to provide support, stated in court, the accused put up "massive resistance".

Although they were "at least four" and had already brought the man to the ground, he broke free.

The police officers recalled that they were able to catch him again immediately in front of a barbed wire fence and fix him with an ankle bracelet.

The man also spat on one of the officers.

"I was in a state of emergency and not myself," the accused apologized to the police officers.

In the run-up to the trial, the 34-year-old had told a psychiatrist that he had smoked cannabis on the day of the crime and the two days before.

"I think there was something super toxic in there" and "his brain got really mixed up," suspected another reviewer.

The police officers were also able to confirm this: when he was arrested, the 34-year-old said he "wanted to kill a witch" and incoherently talked about "alcohol, LSD and mushrooms".

The "mushrooms" could match the fact that he ran through a forest and ate mushrooms before the crime, because they would have made Super Mario strong.

At least that's what he is said to have said to one of the psychiatrists.

Because the accused's incompetence was obvious at the time of the crime, he was not charged with attempted manslaughter, but only with intentional intoxication.

The psychiatrist who is currently looking after the trained electronics technician on an outpatient basis described him as "unremarkable".

The 34-year-old also seems to have hardly appeared under criminal law.

It is therefore not unlikely that the criminal court will assume that the offense was a one-off, sentence the accused to a suspended sentence and order the continuation of outpatient drug therapy.
