High preparedness in the police:
Thousands of people came to Moshav Meron today (Wednesday) to participate in the Lag B'Omer celebration.
At 20:00 the Rebbe of the Boyan Chassidim will light the traditional bonfire and begin the celebrations, which will be completely different this year than in any other year. Lighting the main fire This year, unlike any other year, there will be no more lighting in Meron.
In total, about 140,000 people are expected to ascend the mountain in about 40 hours, with the entrance to the mountain reaching 16,000 people at a time.
These will be allowed to be on the mountain for only four hours and then descended to allow others to attend the festivities.
On the mountain there will be one dance complex as well as a halka complex and a prayer complex, located in the plaza of Toldot Aharon, where the disaster occurred last year.
As part of the interim conclusions of the state commission of inquiry no food will be distributed on the mountain, and all the stalls that were at the site were dismantled and destroyed.
However, in the assembly areas food will be distributed to thousands.
The event will last until tomorrow (Thursday) evening, when a closed memorial service will be held for the families of the victims.
