(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 18 - A Fund for the dissemination of the culture of legality, envisaged and established by the latest Budget Law, endowed with 1 million euros and destined for universities that want to promote initiatives in this regard.
Presented today in the Senate were the minister of the University Cristina Messa, the senator Sandro Ruotolo, the senator Loredana De Petris.
The funds will initially finance 20 projects with 50,000 euros each and will be used to promote seminar activities, study and student initiatives, and to promote the culture of legality, the sharing of constitutional principles, the commitment against mafias and violence.
"In most schools the students do not know who Falcone and Borsellino were - said Senator Ruotolo - but to beat the mafias we need institutions and civil society to work together, we need pens, teachers, information, a culture of legality. a cost but it is an investment in culture, which grasps a need and offers a perspective. The allocated funds, equal to 1 million, seem few a month but in the meantime we are leaving and many things can be done ".
"We set up the Fund this year - said Senator De Petris - but the idea is that it can become permanent to draw on to do a job that we believe to be fundamental. On these issues, from the fight against violence to legality, education goes promoted right from school, it's a precious job "
